Gausman has been lights out fantastic in about 80% of his starts, but it seems when he has a bad one, he has a REALLY bad one this year.   It's been all or nothing for him this year.

Go Tigers!

Toronto has passed the Yankees and is now the closest team to us.   They and the Astros are 4 games back of us as we have the #1 wild card at the moment, Toronto and Houston have #2 and #3, and the Yankees are on the outside looking in.

I think one of those 3 teams misses out with us making the playoffs. I feel good about us getting in. I think health plays a huge role. Don’t like Yankees lineup without Judge.

How glad are we the Orioles didn't pay that for Correa?  There were a lot saying we should have

Let that be a lesson that winning the offseason does nothing much to win the regular season. It's a giant waste of money. Many of those players are over paid. Go younger, go better.

    • From the Sun today: “The atmosphere in the Orioles’ clubhouse after their final loss last October was also emotional. But there was more hope. Those Orioles were confident what happened then was an aberration, a result of youth and bad timing. There were teary eyes and hugs, but also talk of how bright the future is. This year, there was the same emotion, but less optimism and more bewilderment. At times, players were at a loss for words, unable to describe exactly what went wrong “   Hyde has to go.
    • Will probably delay his off season workouts.
    • Gonna be hard to play Legos this offseason, I guess.
    • I Why not IL him?  They had a huge WC lead, practically guaranteed a playoff spot, why keep running him out there at 70%? I suppose it's laudable that he wanted to tough it out but at some point Hyde or Elias needs to step up and tell him no.
    • We also need to examine if he’s not putting in enough work and preparation and see if he’s spending too much time with his girlfriend.  I’m with @glenn__davison this one. Yeah, you sucked, you said everything was fine. Own it.  It doesn’t make me feel good that our so-called leader and elite catcher and face of the franchise is already beat up at age 26, so much so that he limped to the finish line in an embarrassingly awful way.  Back issues don’t always go away so easily, is this something that’s going to drag into 2025?  It’s an inherently brutal position from a physical perspective, is it already time to fit him for a first baseman’s glove and hope that he can put up an .800 OPS there? We all knew that move was going to happen one day, maybe it’s time now. I wouldn’t be too mad at it, it gets Mounty and O’Hearn out of here.  But all I know for sure is that I was so wrong in 2019, and a lot of us were. I’d so much rather have Bobby Witt instead.
    • No, they’re good.  I mean, they’re good enough. And what they really are, is boring.  Outside of Bobby Witt Jr., there’s nothing exciting about that team.  They signed a bunch of boring free agents like Lugo and Wacha, guys that we sneered at because they don’t have “elite” stuff.  And all Lugo and Wacha did were turn in boringly great seasons.     I’m sure their fans aren’t blowing each other over and over again about how great their farm system is and filling out make believe lineups on fielding 1-9 100% home grown talent.    They rely on pitching and defense.  Shouldn’t be a foreign concept to Orioles fans that remember the good old days, but it seems like it is.  No, the Royals are good. They’re just boring. No superstars outside of Witt, Salvy and maybe Ragans. They play in a boring city and a boring ballpark in front of boring fans.  Their farm system is boring.    Meanwhile we’re over here saying how great we should be because of Jackson Holliday and Coby Mayo and Heston Kjerstad and Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson and all this youth and talent that’s going to have us winning all the time and life is going to be so great.  Can’t be bothered to sign guys like Lugo and Wacha, those guys aren’t elite enough for our amazing window of talent!   We’re like the definition of being born on third base and thinking we’ve hit a triple.
