Poor how? Genuinely asking because I don't remember every one.

My impression is that he normally throws it on target even if it's low/skips. But if the OF velo is there, a bounce isn't the end of the world, infielders are used to making picks.

He has had a couple of balls he could have set himself up for the throw better for so that his momentum was moving forward but didn't.

I definitely think he looks clunky out there, but I'm not remembering any plays where it has affected anything. Easily could be missing something though, which is why I was asking.

It's fair to critique his form either way I suppose until we have a more representative sample size as to his fielding.

A lot of minor leaguers have problems with the upper deck in stadiums.  He has looked lost that way a number of times.  I am sure he will get better.

Funny anecdote, I remember seeing Colton like this tweet. Maybe he's just trying to be cautious during these initial stages and it comes across as insecure.

Cowser had two really good ABs last night where he drew walks. His struggles remind me a bit of Gunnar’s early struggles. Where it just seemed like pitchers were just dropping in borderline strike breaking balls in on him early in the count. Then when struggling and being a rookie, the ump isn’t going to do you any favors.

Cowser will be alright. His pitch recognition is there, as is his patience. Now he just needs to work on the holes in his swing. That can be done in AAA, this offseason, and in ST next year.

Yea but he also had a big screw up in the field.  Can’t have that.  Luckily it didn’t matter but still.

I think he will be fine defensively but the defense has definitely been an issue early on.

Colton will be ok......just don't know about this year.  IMO he should be sent back down and play everyday and get his confidence back.

Start fresh next year.  Right now he is not helping the parent club at all.  In fact quite the opposite.

He is not ready. Needs more work down in AAA.

I obviously agree that he has not looked great, and there are many things that he needs to improve on. Where I will disagree is that he can go to AAA to improve them. He was hitting .330 there, how is he going to go down and improve?  It has been stated that it is a big adjustment for outfielders and the second deck, how will he improve that in AAA. We are in a spot where improvement won’t happen unless it happens at the big league level, and I agree that the patience for that improvement will most likely not be there.
