If only we had Scherzer and DeGrom, maybe we could have gotten hot.

The Rangers made a lot of moves over the last several offseasons and trade deadlines. To fixate on two injuries and ignore the positive contributions from trades and free agency is short sighted.

But, a major part of them getting hot was a couple rookies and a low price free agent, complimenting one high priced free agent.

They had a lot of payroll that did nothing.

Just a few factoids for the "did u see we won 101 games last year bro" crowd.

Exactly TWO teams in the last 25 years have won a World Series with a below 15th ranked payroll. (That is about 8% for you math wizards out there)

NINETEEN out of 25 had a top 10 payroll. (that is 76%)

ZERO with a payroll lower than 25th won. (0 percent)

So I ask again, how are we upgrading this team? What do we need more, position players or starting pitching? Or are we just good with winning a bunch of meaningless regular season games?

Still don't understand the people advocating for Snell. Dude is going to get ~30M a year at 31 years old and has averaged 124 IP per year. I'd be cooking in a durability bonus that kicks in if he pitches 170 innings, which he's done twice in his career.

New Ownership We just got Santa Clause in January> Were now the Yankees, Mets, Rangers, Dodgers. (Not). Were still the Orioles. The thought of Elias spending 6 years 180 on Snell is laughable.

So you are cool with the 29th payroll and you think that is gonna take them to the promised land?

You know how Texas "got hot" THEY SPENT ALMOST 200M ON PAYROLL. Bet that warmed the seat up for them a little bit you think?

You people are truly delusional. You are actually arguing with me to NOT make the team better! No DON'T you dare spend any money! No no no! Didn't you see how the 200m payroll just "got hot"? All you have to do is get in!! Even the other team that didn't win had DOUBLE the payroll of the Orioles. What a coincidence!

Never seen such a complete losers mentality. Look at this guy wanting to sign some great reliable pitchers!! Who does he think he is!

Again  See Carlos Rondon, Jacob Degrom and Edwin Diaz, Were not those teams yet and probably wont be. If you swing and miss on Snell, Is it Chris Davis no but it would definitely set this Franchise Back. Again Free agents are more than a free trip to the Candy Store, FA is hard
