Yanks' Second 21 Year Old Pitcher Makes Roster

Move over Philip Hughes, here comes Joba Chamberlain and he brings it.

He was drafted 41st in 2006 and flew through the system in four months this year. "Chamberlain has a fastball that routinely registers in the upper 90s, not to mention a curveball, slider and changeup that he can throw for strikes. The Yankees wanted to limit his inning total this year to 130, so the move to the bullpen made sense both for the team and Chamberlain."

Not that I'm a skankee fan or anything but Hughes and Chamberlain went 6 and 2 innings tonight vs. CLE and had 10 K's, 4 H, 1 R.

And the rich get richer. The Yankees might be getting older, but should be able to able to continue their dominance as the likes of Hughes, Chamberlain, and Kennedy make their mark.

Give'em credit for drafting Joba. I think he had some kind of injury and makeup issues and the Yanks took a chance on him. I hope to see him pitch this week. I root for young guys (except when they play the O's, of course).

Joba was nasty tonight. I knew he had some serious heat, but I was really impressed by his off speed stuff. I had no idea it was that good. Plus, it was a pressure situation and he was not rattled at all. I hate the Yankees, but I was certainly impressed.
