Stanhouse wasn’t very good ? His ERA was 2.89 and 2.82 , those are not good ? Gave up 4 HRS in 147 innings are not good ? He had the job because he performed ( as ugly it was) . But I agree with your 1.5 WHIP which is poor for a closer . Then again all this was over 40 years ago . If Stanhouse as back then, attempting to pitch today, he likely would get annilated ( like the other poster said ) . -
I wonder if Kjerstad, Mountcastle and Irvin would work. I know it's unlikely, but we'd have Mayo for right, Cowser in left and Basallo at first for the long term. I think we'll have to trade one of the big prospects for a starter at some point. -

Obviously Burnes is the best (of that group and just about any/all groups), but will cost. The team had a profit margin of 99 million last seaso (which was more than the Major League payroll). That is not to mention the is the 35% increase in attendance this season. And that does not include the billions backed up in the Rubenstein group treasury. And lastly, about 550 million to the franchise for free from us state taxers. It would be ab absolute shame for the team not to be serious spenders now (deadline & offseason). -

No it’s not. I looked up his stats carefully. He’s in the minors for a reason and all that blue at Baseball Savant isn’t an aesthetic choice.

Wade Miley has gone down with TJ but I remember how phenomenally useless he was with us, then went elsewhere and became one of the best in the business. Current health aside, if someone suggested we re-acquire Miley, I would fire up the torches and sharpen the pitchforks.

He currently has an 8.36 ERA in AAA along with giving up 2.6 HR/9 and 5.2 BB/9 so probably not wise to count on him for anything at this point.
