Tampa Series: Four at the Trop

  • Fri 6:50pm | Irvin (5-2, 2.84) vs Civale (2-4, 5.37)
  • Sat 4:10pm | TBD vs Bradley (1-3, 5.81)
  • Sun 1:40pm | TBD vs Littell (2-3, 3.56)
  • Mon 6:50pm | TBD vs Pepiot (4-2, 3.96)

It's likely that the TBDs are Grayson, Bradish, and Burnes in some order.

The Rays are 31-31, back at .500 for the first time in a few weeks. Their bullpen will be at an advantage to start the series: they had their weird local-rival schedule week this week, with off-days on both Mon and Thurs. In between they swept Miami in a two game set.

Hoping for at least 3/4 here, and optimistic with probably our best four pitchers going.

2001 births, rWAR scoreboard is Wander 11.5, Gunnar 11.4 as play begins tonight.

2000 is Julio 12, Witt 9

1999 is Tatis 21, Vlad 17

I like anchoring on birth since Samuel Basallo and Shohei Ohtani end up competing for the same dogpile.     Elly de la Cruz, who no one should be excited about, and Baltimore's own Jackson Merrill are the 2002 and 2003 bats leaders.

Peter Fairbanks after being lost a lot finally seems to have found a decent groove, and Yandy, Lowe and Paredes up top are at least warm.      They just got Josh Lowe back the other day as he tries to put an injury riddled first couple months behind him.

Rays fans can still hope if they win AL6 that Shane Baz, Jeffrey Springs, Drew Rasmussen and maybe even Shane McClanahan can chip in.     With the West generally down, 3rd place AL Central holding that berth for now.

After blowing those last 2 vs the BLOW Jays, 3/4 is a must. Skanks are playing LAD and their expected injuries are finally starting to crop up, so hopefully LAD will be of some help this weekend unlike the woeful Twins were this week.

Still VERY concerned about Bradish. Hopefully he starts tomorrow.

The Dodgers gave up 18 runs in 3 games in losing 2/3 to Pittsburgh, they have their own issues and I doubt the Yankees are quaking.

What injuries on the Yankees are you referencing?

Soto left the game with a forearm issue.

Haven't seen an update beyond the fact that it had been bothering him for a while.

Also Clarke Schmidt had been having a breakout season and hit the IL with lat strain. Won't throw for 4-6 weeks. Though fitting for their rotation this year, the journeyman they called up has done well in a couple starts since.

Schmidt went down for 4-6 weeks and he had been a solid reliever, but he’s the only one.

And Cole starts a rehab assignment today so could be back within two weeks.

yay…

Local news indicated Soto is not in tonight's lineup but could be available to PH.  Boone wanted him to have some rest.

Gotta take 3 at least. Dropping 2 to the Jays was the equivalent of what I’d imagine it’d be like hanging with DirtyBird.

Must win?

I was offered tickets to one of the games and turned them down.

Not interested in seeing a game at the trop.
