He said at the end "I'm coming into a team where we may have an even better chance of winning a WS". Austin... right now I wholeheartedly agree w/ you!

How much has Mayo played OF?  Seems like he's struggling to play 1B & 3B I don't want to add OF to that.

So you rather trade Mayo if he can’t play 1B & 3B ?    If not , he has to play somewhere eventually

Kinda seemed like a shot at the O’s saying the Phillies have an even better chance at the WS than they do. He very easily could have said he was going to the best team in the league without directly saying they are better than the O’s.

I’m sure he’s a bit salty he became a platoon bat but he got out played by almost every other OF’er on their current roster, as well as Stowers. If he played better, there’s a better chance he isn’t traded.

I agree … But sadly don’t have a good defensive LF unless you play the kid we just got back in the trade that can’t hit. I question the trade decisions… you moved Hays due to his poor offense and picked up a kid that can’t be sent down who is worse! Where is the logic in that? I challenge anyone here to argue that Kjerstad is a good defensive OF and fast enough to play LF here!

He may be salty but he’s right. Phillies have a lot better chance

Marsh can flex to CF like Cowser.     I hope Hays gets a clean look at returning to closer to an everyday role.

Roch on the pregame show went to the place of wondering aloud if Hays' agent asked for a trade.    Ulitmately whether Dombrowski tenders Hays or not, Austin can use playing time to establish his place in the 2025 market, or how high the Bid/Ask will be for Arb.

A few minutes later, Melanie featured that  Mullins and Hays had picked up a charitable effort Gibson did last year, an organization having an event this weekend Cedric will now have to do alone.

I'll go on the record now and say Hays is going to play basically every day for them and be a solid upgrade over what they've been getting in the OF.
I also think there's a much better chance he gets tendered than we pick up the option on the relief pitcher.

That said, while I was "meh" on this trade, it'll be judged on how well Kjerstad plays in increased opportunities, and whether Dominguez performs well in our pen.

Good for Austin.  I dunno why people would be upset at all about what he said.   Of course he's going to say his new team has a "better chance".   What else would he say?

Not that he needs it, but I hope this puts a little chip on his shoulder and pushes him to be even better….so long as it’s not against us.

I wish him the best and I’m sad it ended here with some hard feelings. But, as of right now he has a better shot at playing in the World Series than here for a team that’s currently floundering.
