Back in the 90's?  Sure.  I just checked, first year of interleague was '97, I could see him going in '97.  I do think he'd be in a luxury box tho.

Regarding Mountcastle: he’s not great, but he’s better than Mayo, and I would never trade M for M.

Certainly his defense is above average(it wasn’t, for a while) and defense is our friend. Mayos defense…..needs work….
