Makes you wonder why we didnt have interest in either. In my opinion we would have taken one of these guys if we werent getting someone else. We passed on these guys in order for Cleveland & Pitt to have the chance at caiing them right???

I'm just saying that this is a front office regime that seems to lean more towards giving out no information rather than lying about what they give.

It doesn't make much sense that they would come out and say they are getting a player back after the backlash from the Bradford deal, and instead get cash again.

Hopefully, you're right.

I must say, my expectations are pretty low for what we're getting back though. Not that I expected much to begin with, but it would've been nice to get a young arm (w/ upside) like Meloan.

Good question. I definitely would have picked up Swindle and stuck him in our bullpen--he could have been our lefty specialist next year. And we're ahead of Cleveland in the waiver pecking order, I believe.

Per Roch -

"Andy MacPhail, president of baseball operations, expects to settle on the PTBNL in the Gregg Zaun trade on Monday."

http://www.masnsports.com/index_blog_roch.html

When I asked MacPhail whether the Orioles could receive a player recently designated for assignment, or a minor leaguer from the lower or upper levels of Tampa's farm system, he replied: "It could be pretty much anything".

I really dont believe this part. I think its safe to say the he has a better idea of the direction that he is going. He makes it sound like a dice role to a guy that use to have fun playing RPG's:D
