I could not believe that when I saw it on MLB Network. I saw it 5 times and am still stunned. All the commentators were amazed as well.

It was not injury related (according to the manager). In fact the guy that replaced him was the one with the injury. I don't remember ever seeing such a blatant and deliberate lack of effort sustained over such a long play. It felt like he was jogging for a minute. It makes me sad because I have loved watching Hanley's career blossom and this is the kind of play I will always remember.

I wonder if they will try to spin this or if Hanley will change his answer to his ankle hurt (he was hit by a pitch).

Did you see Ramirez's quote after the game? I guess Trembley must have to put up with this kind of attitude, too.

Ramirez took a shot at his manager on Tuesday for removing him from the game.

"That's OK. He doesn't understand that. He never played in the big leagues," Ramirez said, according to the Post.

On a side note, "facetious" is one of those words where all the vowels line up -- aeiou.

That's all I got.

You needed to take it up a notch, facetiously does the same thing but includes the sometime vowel Y.

I am still waiting for someone to try and buy a Y on Wheel of fourtune btw.

Back to topic, with Union pressure on the fish to spend bucks I don't see them dumping Ramirez so my guess its the manager that is going to go at some point. I do agree with his call to bench Ramirez however.

So now Hanley refuses to apologize and played the "he never played in the majors card"

I say sit his butt on the bench until see's the error of his ways.

I say trade him to the Orioles where he'll have to play for a guy who never even played pro ball! :D
