Not that I agree with it, but it's probably because of the heat and him getting hit a bit in the 6th.

He's probably taking the opportunity to keep his pitch count for the year down, so that he can make it through September. Or at least, that's what I'm assuming.

He has pitched pooplike that last few times. He has a quality with a lead and a good pen. We don't need another young starter sent back to the minors just yet.

I think it's also about preserving Britton. It's a long season and he's very young. No real point in pushing him, especially with a lead.
