Who cares? Do you think Chavez was offended?

No, and nor should Hardy be offended for getting called off a ball he could catch. You do it because it is easier for an outfielder coming in to make a quick move to one side or another if the ball catches the wind than it would be for an infielder who drifted back and is on his heels. This is baseball fundamentals. The outfielder has the right of way on any ball he can get to (and the CF has right of way over the other two outfielders).
