The thing is with Johnson, he may never be more than a 5th starter or a long man. If you were paying attn, though, after the rough first inning he made an in game adjustment. Very heady thing for a young pitcher.

I don't know what a guy has to do to be considered good anymore. Johnson's had a brilliant season in the high minors and has been absolutely filthy now in 16 innings with the O's. People can whine about his velocity all they want, but his stats say he's got something going on.

Teams that contend get these kinds of contributions from unexpected sources. It's SO exciting to see the O's getting a boost from guys like SJ and McLouth.
