Have you ever played competitive ball? Many guys can’t produce playing sporadically and riding the pine. Then being sent back to the minors without getting much of a shot. BTW, Stowers has a .797 OPS in his 36 ABs of sporadic playing time. That hasn’t gotten him more time even though he’s deserving and he’s been demoted again. How would you not be asking yourself, what else do you need to do. -

Norby and Kjerstad are what they are defensively. Gunnar has all the ability in the world, he just needs to perform better. And I think he will. Right now he’s just scuffling/in a funk and his offensive struggles seem to be impacting his defense. The runs thing will eventually turn around IMO. The hitters are too good and the org/coaching is too smart not to identify the problem and make the proper adjustment. Right now, we are way too aggressive/swing happy. We are going to have to become more patient as a team and be willing to take a “pass the baton” approach. That and get away from trying to hunt home runs all the time. But overall, if you look at our pitching over the last month or so (since the Bradish injury), the results cannot sustain any kind of success. We are giving up over 5.5 runs a game going beyond 30 games now. -
Yeah, that is a dumb analogy. I’m not calling you dumb, just your logic here so don’t get your feelings hurt. Mariano Rivera had 80 blown saves in his career, what’s the difference between that and Kimbrell having 59 in his? We knew Kimbrell was at the end of his career and he isn’t Rivera. Point is stop the bleeding and move on. Even the best teams lose games. -

It was so quick and Haynie never addressed it. It was something like Hay’s attitude wouldn’t be missed by the other players. Unless I completely whiffed on the comment - and if so, I profusely apologize to Hays. -

Oh I agree. I don’t think Elias and Hyde have done a good job at integrating the young players over the last two years. For example, how much better would we have been with Ortiz at 2b last year? -
Got you…. I wasn’t busting on you. I think they have to keep Burnes if we are serious about contending. He’s our best pitcher and probably our best player and it only costs money to do the right thing. I’m fine with Eflin …but

Where is there smoke though? The article reads to me as "the O's are losing, I wonder what the clubhouse dynamic is like?" Supposedly Hays "verified" the quote but the only thing I've heard that he's said is he likes the Phillies chances to win the WS.
