LOL. I watched this game. It was like watching Amanda Wurlizer pitch for the Bad News Bears. The defense made some terrible plays behind him and the offense put up a big fat zero so it really didn't matter that Bedard gave up 5 runs, he would have taken the loss if he had given up one run.

This game was in Arlington, and I think you could have fried an egg on Bedard's arm by the 5th inning. The Astros did their Bad News Bears fielding again, they really should play Bizet's Carmen when they take the field. And the strike zone was a movable target.

The Astros have a gaggle of rookie starters (they are going to a six-man rotation, even without Bedard) that they probably want to look at. But blaming Bedard for going 3-9 is laughable.

It's actually $1.15 million. Considering that he was their "big dollar free agent pitcher" and they have a total payroll of $13 million, I'd say their failure to complete is not in any way Bedard's fault.
