Teams are being more conservative than ever with pitchers yet we're seeing more Tommy john surgeries that even before as well.

To an extent they robbed Peter to pay Paul.. at least in terms of the regular season. I guess the hope is it gets them over the top in the playoffs. Given their record, I think he's trading to win the post-season, not knowing the post-season is a clutch.

I think the key is that he has a 70% chance of being in the post season, so he is juggling to advance. If he gets there.
