And yet, despite how impressive it is to hit a HR at Comerica, we have Eck fawning over where Price put the ball vs where Cruz hit the ball. Because God forbid a home run hitter hit a home run.

Here's hoping that single for Jones, jump starts things for him.

That would be awesome, but actually, Jones is already a good enough leader as far as morale and fielding, all we need is for him to get a worm killer single once in a while. Really no need for him to hit dingers every time he's up. All we need is for someone to step up. A lot of guys whose bats have been pretty quiet most of the year have been doing big things in the playoffs. Markakis. Basically everyone in Game 1. And Cruz, after slowing down the second half of the year, has stepped up in a big way for the playoffs.

That's what's great about this team. Our all-star center fielder can just field and occasionally walk, bunt, sac fly and single, and we can still win games. It wasn't that long ago that Mr. Jones would HAVE to carry this team, because nobody else could hit worth a darn. That does not appear to be the case now.

Oh yeah, now they did say that didn't they? What would be the line if Torii, Miggy, or V-Mart had hit it? On top of that they called Jones' single on a tough pitch a "cheap little hit." Jeez.
