The nine pitches that changed Miguel Gonzalez's life didn't even count.

It's a remarkable story from so many angles, but one has to appreciate the perseverance of MiGon, the vision of FredF and the improbability of conjuring up a 2 WAR major league starting pitcher from basically thin air. Unbelievable. In this one signing, Fred F justified probably the entire international scouting budget of the Os for five years.

Truly an amazing tale. And that they had never met until Miguel made the majors is wild as well.
