I found myself pondering my deep rooted hatred for every other AL East team the other day. It was some heavy stuff, man.

I hate them all differently. But almost equally. MFY notwithstanding

I tapped, I talked, I conquered.

They are only our rivals because we just faced them. If we have a heated close series with Boston where Papi is sent a message, Pedroia gets a huge game winning hit, and E-Rod puts up a dominate start, then we'll be asking "Are the Red Sox our new main rival?"

I think all 4 teams are so close and an equally admissible candidates these days.

I can see hate for all the teams but Tampa. They build from within on a lower budget and don't do disrespectful antics (with the exception when they had Rodney).

The funny thing is that I used to intensely dislike the Rays when both the Orioles and them were terrible, but not now that they are both good. Back then it was a battle for last place, and it seemed that they always played with more intensity against the Orioles than against the NYY and Bos (in fact, the NYY owned them, which made things worse). The real reason was probably just that NYY and Bos were much better than the Orioles. Regardless, TB vs. Orioles were a rivalry back then, but not now.

The Blue Jays players actually make the Yanks and Sox guys respectable by comparison.

Any time a player (Joey Bats) can replace Papi as the biggest jackhole in baseball, you know they must be a real piece of work.

As bad as he is, IMO, he still isnt as bad as Big Baby.

Thankfully these things didn't happen & the Red Sox continue to be terrible at home against the O's.

The Yankees will always be number 1 to me hate-wise. The players, the organization, the fans. Can't stand 'em. Pretty self explanatory. The problem I've had with the Red Sox since the early 2000's have been mostly with the fans. Yes, Ortiz does gets his own special pedestal for obvious reasons, but otherwise I just can't take even talking to any Red Sox "fan" that I know. So many are of them are so uneducated & yet so entitled. Drives me nuts that they wouldn't even be able to name any players beyond Ortiz & Pedroia but still think they are a "hardcore" fans & have been fans for, like ever.
