Fuji isn’t a good comp. He doesn’t have a ML history that suggests he could be really good and Kopech does. -

I’m not sure either. On one hand, Norby or Stowers sounds like too much. Stowers probably doesn’t have a future role here (unless the more highly touted guys are traded an he’s the fallback option) where as Norby does potentially have an important role here long term Kopech has shown that while he has great stuff, he often struggles to command it, so it makes it tough to gauge his market. OTOH, he dominated in 2021 as a reliever and the stuff is as good as it gets and if some team could harness it, he will be an elite reliever. I think he has multiple years in him of being a top end guy but I also think he could fall on his face. He’s a risk I would take as it’s minimal in dollars and could be a huge pay off. -

I was thinking Fuji. That walk rate just scares me too much but the stuff is tempting. I think Kopech is a soft pass for me but if we got him I'd root for him and I could see a world where he is getting huge outs in October. -

You're definitely asking the right question--how can we get all of Mayo, Holliday, Westburg, Kjerstad, Cowser and Gunnar into the everyday lineup going forward, without having to relegate one of them to 1B or DH? In terms of athleticism it seems that Westburg or Holliday could handle CF, but obviously there is a lot to learn about playing the OF and a lot of uncertainty about whether they could get the hang of it. For now it seems unlikely that the O's would experiment with that during a game as long as McKenna is around to spell Cedric Mullins. Would be a cool thing to try next spring training though. -
I did and was just about to post the same question. Seemed like it went away after the 5th inning, so maybe a split nail that he could take care of in between innings?
