Don't know about you...but I want Cespedes

If the White Sox land Cespedes, what do y'all think it would take to get Avisail Garcia? He's been pretty miserable to this point, but man...6'4", 240, and only 24 years old. As I'm sure many in Chicago have felt over the last couple of season, it seems like he's got monster-masher potential.

I'd consider it especially since they might sell low, but I'm even more impressed you used "y'all" in a sentence. ;)

Maybe he doesn't get the best jumps? But Cespedes has elite top end speed. Statcast (or whatever it's called) had Cespedes clocked north of 24 MPH on a couple different occasions, I believe. No reason he can't cover the ground.

Indeed. He should have no trouble transitioning to right field.

I never thought of Cespedes as a good fielder despite the GG. Am I wrong?

He's fast, has a strong arm, and catches the ball. Just remember what it was like having Delmon Young, Travis Snider, De Aza, and Nolan Reimold in our outfield. Cespedes would be a massive improvement wherever he plays.

Cespedes always seem to rake at OPACY....

I think 5/90 gets it done.

That would be a steal, IMO. From a pure talent perspective, this guy is arguably better than Chris Davis in that he adds more value defensively. Interestingly, they have the exact same career OPS+ numbers (122). I was surprised to see that CD has a higher career on-base percentage, though. That's a bit concerning.

I'd love to see them resign Davis AND sign Cespedes, plus a good starter... in addition to Span. Come on, Dan - now that you're done opening your Chia pet for Christmas, get it done!

I was hearing he was looking for 5/100

His arm is unquestioned. And apparently his range is good enough to play a so-so centerfield in New York.

Good enough to spell Adam once in a while and perhaps save us from having to carry a light-hitting defensive specialist instead of someone who could be a decent DH though just mediocre in the field.

I reckon that's a good usage.

Darn tootin'?

I'd definitely be looking to buy low on Garcia. Anything more than low doesn't seem worth it, if the Sox are already primed to move him into a less-than-FT role. He reminds me a bit of Davis without the MiL demolition. A reclamation project, but a young one with upside. He's also pretty cheap.

I wonder what source this is coming from.
