As I have gotten pounded on by everyone it seems, I don't much like Worley. I think he should just be a long guy and that's it.

We have no other good options. DD has a lot of egg on his face right now:

Released Gonzo

Signed Gallardo, lost pick

Signed Ubaldo, lost pick

Traded Davvies when we had little chance at the playoffs

Passed on Latos, no pick

Paid David, passed on J Zimmerman & Cueto

Traded Arietta

Let J Hammel go

I don't think DD is bad but he has been atrocious with FA pitchers and assembling our staff.

This is just a thought exercise, not a suggestion. Just wondering:

If we signed Cody Sedlock (our top draft pick) immediately, assigned him to Norfolk or Bowie and had him pitch twice there for a couple of innings, and then brought him up and started him against a mediocre-to-weak hitting ML opponent, do you think he would fare worse in 4 or 5 innings than Wright or Wilson or Ubaldo? A lot worse?

There are lots of reasons why this can't happen and shouldn't even if it could, but it's hard for me to believe Sedlock would do much worse than the garbage we're putting out there, exhausting the relievers and running up deficits that we have to come back from. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood or something, but the last couple of games have turned me around from thinking that from Wilson and Wright we'd get one decent and one passable starter. They both look to me like bullpen destroyers who can be put out there with a chance of winning only against the Twins or maybe the NYYs or Rays. Very discouraging.
