Absolutely atrocious managing.

He had nothing last inning. He got really lucky to get out of that inning. Then 2 walks and buck leaves him in for another matter?

Awful. No excuse, buck needs to smarten up and our starting pitchers need to grow a pair.

This is untenable.

Bad results. The walk is certainly on Gallardo. I thought Calhoun and Trout hit pretty decent pitches.

Don't know what you mean?

From before Dan spent a pick on him I have been saying that Gallardo is a five inning pitcher.

Look at his usage the second half of the year with Texas.

Take your five and get him out.

The problem is three out of the next five hitters were left-handed or switch hitters and Givens is completely ineffective against lefties. I believe Buck was hoping Gallardo could get through five hitters before turning it over to Givens. Obviously, that move has backfired in a big way.

Bad process.

Gallardo can give you five.

You take the five.

Total agreement. Of course, he's now credited with five innings and two runs with that DP get out of jam free card. Very lucky there, O's. I'd have taken 2 runs, 5 innings. But not with that scare and having him out there to start the 6th as you say.
