With over 60% of MLBTR Top 50 signed, the O's probably only have interest in 2 that are remaining, Trumbo and Saunders.

I am sure they are interested in more then just those two.  They were just the two predicted to us.  A lot of those guys are bullpen guys so not ones we would look at unless we move one of ours before.

Since that MLBTR report they have been interested in many more than just those two, What's the point?

Though the O's may have some interest in Saunders I don't think he is the best fit for them. Certainly not at anything close to 3/33m. The O's probably need a trade to fill their OF spot.

The list is old.  Saunders is probably not getting 3/33m and Edwin Encarnacion is not going to Boston for 92m after they signed Mitch Moreland.

Saunders looks like the best fit for RF among the players available, IMO.  The price actually looks like a positive to me.  I'm thinking that 2/$22 or 3/$30 would do it.  The guy has power, decent speed, and is coming off a good year.  Heck he even OPS'd over .900 vs. LHP in 2016.  No platoon needed.  Plays all three outfield spots, has a good arm, and has shown well whenever he has played right field.  His defensive deficiencies are grossly overstated on this board, as his metrics have fluctuated greatly, with the exception of never showing poorly in right field.  He led all AL right fielders in total zone runs in 2014.  He is a poster child for the imperfections of the defensive metrics, IMO.  The concern I have is whether his shoulder is at or near 100% and whether he would pass the Orioles' physical.  Barring an unforeseen trade for a right fielder we haven't been looking at, a Saunders signing is something that I think works better than other options discussed.

Trumbo's offer is now off the table now according to Roch. O's might have found a trade partner or else they like Carter better. They seemed unusually interested in Trumbo for some reason, so it has to be some movement somewhere else for them to pull his offer.

Just like Davis last year.

With any luck at all we won't get either of the two. Chris Carter can hit as many home runs as Trumbo, can't play defense, and strike out at an alarming rate for a whole lot less in years and money. That's a joke, kind of. I would much rather have Pedro than either of them. Pedro is a better hitter than either of them and he hits lefthanded which is a good match with Mancini at DH. The outfield needs improved defense and speed. Is Saunders that guy? Maybe, but he was pretty awful in the second half of last year.

Trumbo was a popular team mate, and a number expressed the hope he could stay, as a well as Wieters, Maybe they just wanted to show a good faith effort to keep things calm.

Not crazy about Saunders. Would rather have Bourn out there. We need to get back to defense first.

The gap in offense between Saunders and Bourn is greater than the gap in their defense.

It's a question of price, and health.  Otherwise Saunders is the superior player.
