Kjersatd was recalled and started in his first game up (Apr 23rd) and had one pinch hit appearance since. He obviously was not going to start against Cortez tonight, but it's pretty clear the Orioles have no intention of rotating out their starters to give him PAs. Kjerstad meet Stowers, Stowers meet Kjerstad. Hyde/Sigbot treats you the same. The Orioles should have moved Kjerstad for an impact reliever this offseason if they had no plans to properly use him once they bring him to the major leagues. Outside of Gunnar and Adley, the Orioles do not treat prospects, at least not the uber prospects, like they need to get at bats. They're in first place, so I guess you can't argue with the results, but I do not agree with Kjerstad just wallowing away on the bench. One PA in a week is not how you handle a rookie in my opinion. I'm sure he's not arguing because he's making big league money, but if they were just planning on burying Kjerstad, they should have just brought up Stowers and let Kjerstad play everyday in AAA until they needed him. Honestly, they might as well re-sign Hicks and send Kjerstad back if this is the playing time they plan to give this role. -

I'm not worried about Urias now, but if it's June and he's still hitting poorly then ok make a move. If the Orioles trust Mayo defensively at 3B then I'm cool with it, but I think he ends up playing another position for his career. -
It sure would be a lot easier if major league rosters had 30 players. -
His -0.8 ft/sec for routes confirms this and backs up what I saw in the minors. Cowser catches everything he gets to and his acceleration and top running speed on the go allows him to catch a good amount of harder balls, but he rarely looks smooth doing so.

I do think that statcast needs some tweaking. While it's promising and I love the concept, there is no doubt it's kicking out some wonky catch percentages. If you check out the graphs of the catches, they graph correctly to 1-5 star catches, but the catch percentages can be all over the place on some balls. I also have some concerns over the infield OAA. I don't know if MLB is working to fix these or not since they longer give you an opportunity to reach out to them. I wonder if the issues can be traced to the Hawkeye system?

That probably has more to do with McKenna than Cowser -
Santander also has terrible stats vs. Cortes and has been making some truly awful swing decisions lately. I had thought this would be a good day to play Kjerstad in RF.
