Maybe so on Grienke.  But even having a bad year he produced a 2.5 WAR.  The Dodgers gave 42M+ last season on three SP that combined for -1.1 WAR.

Just spit-balling here.  It is obviously too early to make a call on the Grienke contract.

Zack Greinke topped out at 89.5 mph with his fastball Wednesday in his start against Team Mexico.

And the high-priced right-hander was mostly sitting around 88 mph in that start, per beat writer Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Greinke wound up yielding two runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings. "It’s still early," he said after the game. "It is what it is. It’s still early and it’s not like some crazy, crazy thing. But it’s not ideal, either." Greinke, who's still owed $172.5 million from the Diamondbacks, was hitting 93 mph with his fastball at this point last year.

Edit:  I see I am about 20 hours behind Weams with this information, whoops.  Still, wow would that be bad for Arizona.
