Hyde should have left Ynoa go 4 innings.  He had gone 3.1 inning his previous outing.   He would have been ready  to go into the rotation had he done well over 4 innings.

Maybe they like him in his current role.

100% of the outs that Ynoa recorded (9 out of 9) came via the Strikeout and the Groundout.

The only baserunner to reach safely in his 3 innings of work did so via an infield single.

Nice performance and you hope he can continue. It’s considering we are getting so little from the starting pitching.

Well, this is what I had referred to in the GT. He pulled him in the game WC noted, and then again last night. The guy was starting games in Norfolk, why not have him go another inning, especially when he’s cruising along getting outs?

I’d also rather see him than Hess in the rotation.

Hyde, on Ynoa giving the team what it needs: He's been giving the team what it needs, and more. Hes been awesome. When he was here a couple of years ago, I saw him in New York. He's always been kind of a swing guy. But hes throwing 95, 96 with a good slider, and hes holding it through 3 innings. Hes doing a great job. I'm really happy with how hes been pitching.

Hyde, on whether or not he considered giving Ynoa a 4th inning: Evan hadnt been on the mound in 5 days. So if we had tied it there, we were going to go with Givens, obviously. I still feel comfortable with Evan if we we're down one, or down two, or down three. It just wasnt Evans night.

Hyde, on whether or not Ynoa could be starter: I think that he would be in the mix if we went in that direction. But hes also pitching his way into higher-leverage situations, and being somebody that you can trust on the mound when the games being close. I think that he can probably do a variety of things for us. He kind of came here as our long guy. Hes pitching his way into a different situation, so good for him.

If Hyde left him in and he gives up the HR, then the posters would be complaining about that.
