Ambidextrous Pitcher vs Switch Hitter in NY Penn League

Here's something you don't see everyday. In the Staten Island Yankees vs Brooklyn Cyclones game today Pat Venditte, a recently drafted ambidextrous pitcher, faced off against a switch hitter.

The two went back and forth switching sides until the umps finally had a conference and decided they could each only change sides once.

There's no rule in the MLB rulebook about this situation, but there was a rule in the Professional Baseball Umpire Corporation's rulebook that they used to rectify the situation.

Might be interesting want MLB finally decides to use as a rule for this situation.

Here's a pretty funny video of the whole crazy situation.

I thought MLB did have a rule. I believe this situation happened many years ago. The way I thought the rule went in MLB was that the pitcher can only pitch from one side per inning. Or maybe it was per batter. I heard a story about it so I don't know.

Edit: Silly me just read the article. Says there is no rule. Eh. I know I heard the story before.
