Hard to believe but the Orioles are on National TV vs the Dodgers on Thursday.

This year FOX is doing back to back weeks carrying games on Thursdays instead of Saturdays I assume due to college football.

If this change was mentioned somewhere I didn’t see it. The other national game is Braves - Phillies.

If the Dodgers clinch the division on Wednesday they'll probably put out a minor league lineup Thursday, as is tradition the first day after clinching.   And of course we'll put out... our lineup.

Fox might be better served showing the Bowie/Trenton game that night.

I was looking at the schedule, clearly some better games. Maybe some Central Time zone teams didn’t or were not forced to move? Who knows.

I know the Dodgers are not on TV in much of LA area but still don’t get it.

The NFL game this week on Thursday is NFL Network only. Same for next week since FOX can’t carry both MLB and NFL at same time.

I get a regular season game is not going to be a big draw but the sport has a chance here before all the fall programming starts to have some good matchups on National TV and we are playing? Don’t get it.

Yankees starting rotation appearing in that series. Shame to do that to the kids in bowie. Severino, Montgomery and  Betances et al

I suspect it is nothing more than MLB trying to exert pressure on the Dodgers-Charter Communications vs. the world fiasco in  some typically obscure, passive aggressive  way. A wrinkle of the whole mess (if you are in to reading the tea leaves of such things), is that Charter has been slow on the whole streaming thing. Independent of the Dodgers and Charter, MLB set up a broadcasting agreement with YouTube that has been streaming games....including several Dodgers games. One, in fact, is a few days after the game with the Orioles (the more interesting matchup of the Rays vs Dodgers on Sept. 17).

Unrelated, the Maryland based Sinclair Broadcast group just purchased a chunk of Fox's Regional Sports Networks, including Fox Sports West that broadcasts Angels games. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2019-08-23/sinclair-owns-fox-regional-sports-networks#null The AngelsFox Sports West deal allows for streaming by subscribers.

The questions are:

   1) Will weather allow the game to be played?

   2) Will fans be able to get there?   The traffic situation in the Baltimore/Washington corridor now is approaching historically bad levels.

I would be shocked if there are more than 13K.
