Here's what I was able to dig up. The bonus money noticeably spiked up and I think the Orioles actually came out looking sensible. Three first rounders did not sign: Aaron Crow stiffed the Nats and Gerrit Cole opted for college (UCLA) rather than wear the pinstripes. Seattle didn't get theirs, Josh Fields.

How is that?

He's a senior. He's not going back to school.

Mariners Notebook: Talks could intensify with first-round draft pick Fields

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Mariners are continuing their dialog with 2008 first-round draft pick Josh Fields. But unlike most of the rest of the players taken in the first round, Fields, a closer who helped pitch Georgia into the College World Series, is a senior. And the rule that mandates draftees must sign by Aug. 15 or wait and enter the next year's draft applies only to underclassmen.

"I don't have the feeling that anything is immediately imminent," Benny Looper, the club's vice president of player personnel, said Friday. "We'd like to sign him, and the sooner we can do that, the better."

Fields is represented by Scott Boras, who represents a handful of drafted underclassmen on whom a thumbs-up or thumbs-down had to be made by Friday.

Although the Mariners and Boras have had ongoing discussions regarding Fields, it's possible that intensity of the talks will pick up now that the deadline has passed.
