Anybody going to this?    It’s this Saturday.   I have a prior commitment and can’t go.

Maybe.   I know either Saturday or Sunday I'll be getting together with my sister and brother-in-law for lunch or dinner, and a movie.   That gets scheduled first.   If it doesn't conflict, then I'll probably go.

    • Green Bowl
    • Dunkin'
    • Boog's BBQ
    •
  • Vendors:
    • Ama Scents

    • Mount Royal Soap Co.

But it is a special conversation. ?

Executive vice president/general manager Mike Elias, assistant Sig Mejdal and manager Brandon Hyde will participate in a “special conversation,” per the team’s press release. MASN’s Rob Long will serve as emcee.

Birdland Members who renewed their season tickets for the 2020 season may attend for free and will be granted access to exclusive opportunities at the event that haven’t been announced.

Not sure if anything has been announced yet. Heard they would send a ticket to Birdland Members digitally to get in for free .

We’ll be sending digital tickets to our BIrdland Members through the Ballpark App.

I am not sure they will do much before Spring Training since February 12 is the reporting date. Would have to put out a press release soon if they are doing anything in January.  Also the last spring game is on a Monday and then open on a Thursday, so not sure they would do an event at night during the week with school open.

Also i guess no Navy game at the Naval Academy again even though they promised one last year. I guess could do one Tuesday or Wednesday but does not look likely. Lamar Jackson should throw out the first pitch on Opening Day,

I guess they could move it inside the stadium if it rains.  Probably don't want the expense of hiring security for the stadium.    If the weather is nice I will go to this and then visit the Christmas Village at the harbor.  Not worth going to in the rain.  But I guess that is what happens when they are too cheap to pay for the convention center and they decide to have their one event outside in December.  It would be only fitting that it gets rained out.

I wonder why so few of you want to go to this.   Your chance to hear Elias call the Astro's issues a "PR problem" and how the "Orioles need to field a minor league quality team to make the playoffs in the tough AL East".

I'm not denying the cheapness, but anything inside a convention center is about as interesting to me as attending a committee meeting on committees. Do they keep convention centers as sweltering hot in the winter as they are frigid in the summer? Outdoor events are fun.....or they make you hard like Cal Sr. Either way they are better. The O's should just have a double booth at the Christmas Village.

Looks like rainy weather on Satuday till about 4 PM.Not as much expected as today.Elias analytics say you might need an umbrella or hold the Rob Long interview inside Dempsey's.They like the way Santa keeps the reindeer cost efficient. Also that the reindeer are international picks. Santa has a excellent scouting department that the Orioles hope to match. But Krumpus tried to steal the toys with a hidden camera. Santa's elves are looking into disciplanary action.Elias said he can't talk about it since it is an ongoing investigation.

And this is why you don’t hold an outdoor event for thousands (dozens?) of people in mid-December in Baltimore.   At least the concourse has a roof, and they’re serving hot chocolate.

Outdoor events are frequently fun.  I don’t think going to an event in pouring rain with temperatures in the 40s with a small child is going to be fun.  I am going to skip it unless a weather change happens quickly.

Have fun. Updates on the hour? ?

I see on Orioles Facebook page people are selling reduced tickets. What is that ? The tickets are $5.00 or a winter coat that you might have in the closet. How much can you make on four tickets at a reduced price? $8.00? $6.00? $10.00?

Well I doubt they sell them with weather as bad as it is.

    • I have a ton of faith in the FO, but the way the poll was worded, had to cast my vote a little lower.   We won't know for years - if ever - which offers were made but rejected. Grayson has given everything I was hoping for from Bradish.  Burnes has exceeded the hype.  So, we need to replace the #3/#4 pitcher we expected Grayson to be.  Suarez is still a great surprise.  Kremer, in my mind, is trending upward.  A solid #3 would be thrilling. On the reliever front, one solid (non-elite) leverage-type reliever can push Tate/Baker/Akin back to Tidewater and make the whole BP look better.  And Coloumbe returns for the push. I guess I'm saying we don't need an ace and a closer, but a #3 and a 7th inning specialist.  Should be doable.
    • Faith.  I hope he trades all of the prospects that are clearly blocked, and get some players we can use.
    • Hays has certainly hit a lot better lately but he is just feasting on LHP’s. His wRC+ against RHP’s is 73, so he should not be taking any AB’s away against RHP’s from Cowser (or Mullins/Kjerstad/Santander assuming they are all healthy).  So much has been made about Cowser’s offense (for good reason) that it seems like the fact that he’s been the best defensive player on the team on a per game basis gets lost. With his defense and base running value, he doesn’t even have to be a great hitter to be valuable, like Kjerstad. His floor is closer to Mullins, yet it seems like he’s judged very differently. Put another way, if Mullins had Cowser’s overall offensive line right now, with his exit velo’s and quality of contact, nobody would be calling for him to lose playing time. It just seems odd that a rookie that has been so good defensively and has so many good offensive qualities (average exit velocity, chase rate, barrel %) is getting so much heat right now. He definitely does need to be better with RISP and in high leverage situations, and shouldn’t get an unlimited leash, but he’s not going to get better unless he keeps getting chances to work things out. And if he does work things out (as we saw in April) or even can replicate his season line to date the rest of the way, he’s likely the most valuable OF’er on the team.
    • I was definitely joking around, but I bet the combined career WAR of several if not the majority of teams top ten will be less than the WAR the Orioles get out of Henderson.    ps. The entire top ten of a team, not the ten lists of multiple teams. Is that clear? My sleep gummy is kicking in, I’m in a legal state, and, well, grammar and writing clarity is getting challenging.
    • Coby is in Memphis tonight.Thats all I know.
    • It would take a Teams entire top 10.
    • Elias has to get off his butt and trade him. Peak trade value now.        😃
