Nice article... Although it doesn’t really say much than we don’t already know.

I learned that Grenier is "widely expected to stick at short".  I was previously under the impression that a number of knowledgeable folks think he will end up at second.

They're all under pressure.  This is silly.

I could argue that Rutschman is under the least pressure of anyone in our entire system.   He’s got $8.1 mm in the bank and there’s almost no way he won’t get called up to the majors eventually, it’s just a matter of which year it happens. So what’s he got to worry about?

Players under pressure?    How about a guy like Cristian Alvarado, who’s 25 years old, not on the 40-man after 8 years in our system, didn’t get a large signing bonus, and may have a lot of family back in Venezuela who are depending on him (though I don’t know that to be the case).    He’s the kind of guy who could get called up to the majors in a pinch and earn as much money in a week as he’d otherwise earn in a year.   I’d say that’s more pressure than Adley Rutschman is under.

You could argue that.  But would you argue that?

I remember one time a reporter asked Johnny Oates how he handles the pressure of managing in a pennant race.  He replied, "Pressure?  This isn't pressure.  Being two payments behind on your mortgage and out of work.  That's pressure."  Or words to that effect.  I thought that was a great response.

It was a great response, and so true.

But, the youngsters, who havent lived and experience enough life, do not understand that, and they do feel the need to perform, as they are getting paid, and of course, they want to do well, to get up to the show.

I don't know about prospects, but guys like Scott, Phillips, Hess, Fry, Kline, and Carroll, need to produce or get DFA'd.  We're just going to have so many prospects to add next November.

Good point. It's the fringey non-prospects that are really feeling the pressure. Even guys with options like Sisco and Stewart.
