I find it interesting the money for the last 2 picks came quick, but it's been a while since we've gotten any data. 

If I remember correctly, not signing pick 1 means we'd loss the slot pool value.  So if we knew what it was going to take to get 4th and 5th rounder, I expected to hear more on the others by now.

There were reports draft day we already had deals set up for the first two guys so I wonder if they just waiting to announce it.

Not as long as it works out in the end.  Bad things happen if you can't get the underslots signed tho.

This is more or less what I was looking for.  If Heston Kjerstad doesn't sign, they lose the 7.7 mill that was slated for his pick.  Making up an additional 2.2mill (current over for picks 4/5) from the other 3 picks doesn't seem very likely with about 6 mill left in the pool.

That's why not seeing at least Kjerstad surprises me, unless they are delaying numbers to assist negotiations for other 3 picks?  Aka not revealing available money remaining.

I don't think the O's are stupid.  They must have worked the numbers out in advance with the players' agents.  I'd be very surprised if they aren't able to sign everyone.

Yep, this is what I think. Also, agreement with Kjerstad could be a negotiated floor+. Like, he'll get at least $5.5M AND any remaining pool money once all of the other picks are signed.

I guess they know the number for kjerstad since they not leaving any ability to go to slot.  I thought he was already done on draft night.  Guess they waiting for the games to start to announce it at home in front of the empty seats.

I feel confident in saying the O's have never gone over their pool allotment under the current version of the draft.

Are you saying they aren't allowed to go up to 105% of allotment without penalty?  Or are you saying that they are allowed to, but haven't in the past.
