I Know It’s Early, But How Can ESPN Have Us Ranked Dead Last?

Could it be because the O's are not a good team, and ESPN is not fooled by an 8-game stretch?

This is where you defend that the 2-7 Pirates are better than the Orioles.

Pirates?  How about the Marlins who folks had ranked 29th and now have half a roster.

There’s plenty of time to see if they’re a bad team, but regardless, they’re 5-3. As we speak right now, they’re not the worst team in baseball.

It's ultimately meaningless but it is silly to have the O's ranked behind the Pirates and the Marlins.

Power rankings are pretty dumb, people get upset when teams aren't ranked pretty close to in order based on their records, but there is no point in that. They are just an excuse for internet traffic (or in the old days, to fill inches on the sports page).

They get more clicks and attention to have the Orioles at 30 instead of where they should be, somewhere in the low 20s.

How is having the O's 30th getting more clicks than the Marlins or the Pirates?  I don't see why it would.
