Was Tony La Russa drunk when he ruined this Mercedes, too?

ZING!

Looks like it!  See video below:

Mercedes scrubbed his Instagram account of all White Sox-related material earlier in the day, while also hinting at potentially walking away from the game. He then posted a message with “It's over” in the photo area after finishing 0-for-2 for Triple-A Charlotte and being removed for pinch-hitter (and fellow catcher) Nate Nolan in the sixth inning. Mercedes thanked his family and his agent in the post, before asking for forgiveness from all those who were offended by “the fruit of my immaturity.”

Kevin Gausman might be the one pitcher who has a chance to take the NL Cy Young award from DeGrom. Gausman leads the NL in ERA at 1.84 with a 0.850 WHIP and a 9-3 record.

I don't think deGrom's arm is going to hold up, seems to keep missing starts here and there.  Sad because he's at 1.08 but doesn't have enough innings to qualify for the ERA lead.

Gausman can do it, for sure.  It doesn't sting as much because he went to Atlanta and Cincinnati before figuring it out...it's not like how Arrieta figured it out directly after he stepped off the plane in Chicago.

Yeah, it's still deGrom's award to lose, but he's got to start pitching regularly the last two months of the season. I don't know what the cutoff is, but I think anything less than 162 innings is going to start putting deGrom at risk not get the Cy Young this year.

And the Mets should stop messing around and shelve deGrom if that's the best thing for his baseball career.
