Well, that’s a bit misleading.   Lindor will be 28 every day of the 2022 season, and only turns 29 in mid-November.    That said, $341 mm for ages 28-37 for a shortstop is a bit out there.   Plus, he has a full no-trade clause in the final five years.   I’d say the chances Lindor underperforms this deal are about 80%.    But the Mets’ new owner can afford a mistake like that.
