That Santander HR preserved the run differential for tonight! The season is half done - three AL teams are +100 well past all others. I think I know which of those three has the best chance to go +100 again in the second half. -
I was saying that sarcastically, but yeah would be interesting to say the least. It sucks they've lost 5, it's going to be okay eventually, they should win enough to secure a WC spot easily. -
I’m all for trading, but I don’t think we are going to get any adequate pitching back. I don’t think it’s wise to say specifically whom we should trade, just be open to trading anyone if the return is good. But I don’t think 1) we can get enough good pitching to completely fill our needs and 2) Mike will pay the now much higher prices for good pitching. So we’re stuck, except for more waiver claims and cash considerations pickups. -
If Elias thought flying to address the team when he traded Mancini away was bad, that's nothing compared to the speech he'd have to explain about trading Burnes. I don't think this will happen, but in that hypothetical situation, I'd love to be a fly on the wall there. -

If we don't want to trade one of our big three (or four?) prospects, then focusing on bad contracts or rentals is our only option to salvage this season. Better to do that than to do nothing. If we only do rentals, we'll need to add one or more starters over the offseason through free agency. If Rubinstein has told Elias that he's willing to spend in free agency, then that reduces Elias' need to get a starter who is controllable beyond this year. -
