I think Mullins in the all Star game is pretty likely

The Orioles no-trade list should be empty. Now it would take a boatload but I'd trade Mullins in the right deal.

With the service time Cedric has left, I would not be happy with a 2018 like trade package for Manny. I wasn't thrilled with the Manny trade at the time, but that's more on the Orioles for not trading Manny sooner after failing to secure a contract extension.

But the big difference is, Machado was an established star, whereas Mullins is two years removed from being optioned to Bowie because he couldn't hit.  Obviously Mullins has value because he is cheap and controllable, and hopefully the swtich to hitting left handed has yielded sustainable results, but Diaz (who was very highly ranked at the time), plus Kremer, Pop, and Bannon, is a deal you take for Mullins now.

Reality check:  You said you would trade Mullins for something close to what the O's got in the Manny trade.  I said I would not.   You said you would take what the O's hope they got at the time of the trade.  

That sounds like you valuing hope of what the O's got over the reality of what the O's got.  

Its as simple as that.

In other words, the Machado return had more value then than it does now, because Diaz hasn't really panned out.  He was more valuable then.  So, I would take a package that had the same value as the trade had in 2018.  I would not take a package that includes 2021 Diaz and 2021 Kremer as headliners.  My point is extremely clear.

I see your point, and a Machado return as it existed in 2018 is probably the lowest I'd go.  But we are talking about 2.5 months of success.  If this is the 2021/22 offseason, and he has sustauined these numbers , I am demanding a lot more.

Diaz was a top 50 guy when we got him.  If you get a top 50 guy (and presumably you and your scouts love him), a potential mid to back end starter, a potential solid BP arm, I think you think long and hard about that deal.

I’m not saying he’s a complete slam dunk but if the second player was a rising guy like Bradish and you get a highly ranked guy, that’s a lot to say no to for a guy who has had 2 great months in the majors and is already 26.

The early voting is always geared towards the big teams and players everyone knows.   The later voting is more knowledgeable.   In any event I expect Mullins to be named as a reserve.

No way am I trading a young All Star CF for some prospects.  To even consider the trade, I would want a premium top 25 prospect near major league ready.  That prospect would head a package of 3 or 4 other prospects.  Other teams wouldn't give up that package, so Mullins wouldn't be traded.

      I'm guessing that they could solve it this offseason if they want to. It's easy to put up a wall. What's difficult is putting in seating.

      The 13 game plan is guaranteed playoff tickets…….if you purchase them.  Since I assume you went through the team and chose your seat and purchased it with a card, you should get it back.   At least for me, my wife and I thought we were going to be moving 30 minutes away from our house, but instead of an hour from Baltimore, it would be 1 hour 45 minutes, so season tickets of any sort didn’t make sense.  I also figured that we would get hit with 4 pm games mid-week to start, so it all just didn’t make sense.   I am also surprised that my rep didn’t reach out to ask why.  I opted in before as a 29 game holder, in 2014, 15 and 16.  I went back to 29 games this year after two seasons with 13, and I’ve been a Birdland member since 2014.  Oh well.  We may be opting back into 13 next year, or not at all.  We will have to see.  My wife will sometimes get tickets from work, and they were always when we had tickets, so it didn’t make sense to take them.

      That Jimmy Fallon movie was Fever Pitch.  Came out in late 2004 I think, because they had enough time to have the last scene being him and Drew Barrymore on the field in St. Louis celebrating the World Series win.  It actually was a really good movie at the time. But because the Red Sox and their fanbase became completely insufferable beginning with that comeback against the Yankees and carrying all the way through their 4 championships without so much as a loss in the World Series, it is hard for me to still enjoy it. But the underlying premise and that question of what has your favorite team ever done for you definitely resonated and certainly does even more so now with the Orioles.  And for Os fans the answer to that question is over the last 40 years, they haven't done much at all.
