Why is that? All most of guys have done is criticize.

Some of you have said that Elias thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Judging from the whining most of you are doing about the picks, you all must think you're the smartest guys. Right?

Not me.

I'm sure Elias is smarter than I am.

The question is if he is smarter than the other 29 ML GMs.

That is a really hard room to be the smartest in.

Most 8th round picks aren't good by ML standards.

Initial Take: 

This is probably an overslot high school guy that comes with an impact bat potential. The question is why did he fall? What is his number? His perfect game percentages puts him as one of the best exit velocity hitters in high school. Good arm too so it will be interesting to see if he sticks behind the plate. He's certainly built like a catcher but reportedly shows good athleticism.

I can't say one way or the other.  To me, Elias acts like he thinks he is.  Maybe I've just not watched the others ones as closely but I don't get that vibe from say Cashman.

If he's the Coby Mayo character, that is a fantastic odd couple as far as preps with enough exit velo juice to move Orioles draft needles into the green zone.

Not that we care with Adley in the system (competitively we probably don't want robo umps fast), but this also seems like a player whose potential earnings down the line are greater if that whole framing thing gets taken off his plate.
