If you aren’t signing Correa or Story, go get DeJong.  If he isn’t available, go find a blocked SS who can field and has more upside.  Do something substantial.

i was surprised to see this regarding Ellis:

One of the 2022 Fantasy baseball breakouts the model is all over: Free agent starter Chris Ellis. The former Ole Miss standout was a third-round pick in the 2014 draft. He did not make his debut until 2019, though. Ellis pitched in seven games last season, going 1-0 with a 2.15 ERA across 29.1 innings.

He also struck out 23 batters and finished with a 1.19 WHIP. Ellis no-hit the Yankees through five innings in September, capping off a strong campaign. SportsLine's model expects Ellis to build on his 2021 season with a breakout year in 2022. 

 

That's pretty weird, his peripherals and MiL numbers generally seemed to scream "SSS fluke."

Astros put $2M on "SS" Niko Goodrum, perhaps to babysit Jeremy Pena.   I guess that makes them as much "out" on Correa as the Cubs signing Andrelton.

Some muscial chairs filling in with Correa and Story still floating...Yankees, Angels still very rich teams with less than great situations.
