It seems to me that MLB catchers keep glove super low and pull it up at the last second.  I think some is gamesmanship on not giving away location, but a lot is out of laziness.

I think it’s in the zone pretty much through the pitcher’s release, but I haven’t seen every pitch.

Yes, also in the first inning AR set up low then went high which you almost never see.
