We are up. Who do you want for pick 81, and who do you think they will take?

But you have time to post here all the time without first doing your simple research?  Maybe a couple fewer posts and a bit more checking to make sure your posts are accurate may be in order.  Just a thought....

I don’t know many of you, including you, but you sure all have a lot of courage behind a message board.

So you think they have pitchers rated higher on their board and are passing them up?  That’s your actual belief?

Note:  I don’t care about your rankings and the Orioles don’t care about Mayo’s rankings.

I am out man. I am tired of the aholes on here. Glad they got Holiday, hope the rest of the draft turns out well. RIP Weams and the few nice folks on here.

Lol.  Ok.  Not sure why you don’t want to answer that question.

Doesn't take courage to point it out when you say something silly.  It takes common sense.  If we were at the bar face to face I'd tell you the same thing.  Unless your 6'3 250 and real mean looking.  Then I'd keep my mouth shut.

Courage?  I'm not picking a fight or asking you to meet me in the street at high noon.  I'm simply suggesting that taking a second to fact check yourself would help a great deal as your good points are often lost among the misinformed takes or constantly repeated grudges (Lawler).  Just a friendly suggestion that doesn't really require any courage.  🙂  I'd say the same to your face if you were here, and hopefully you'd be mature enough to nod, thank me for my advice, and we go our separate ways.  No big deal.

You have to think that not all of these HS Sr want to go to college, and after not hearing their name called yesterday, they may have lowered their number last night.  Hopefully SS Gavin Guidry.  It's tough to pry him away from LSU, but we could have a Gunnar/Westburg 2.0 situation with Holliday and Guidry.

I would like to see them take the best pitcher that they can afford.  What they will actually do is pick the player highest on their board.  I respect that strategy in principle, but it seems that their board is so biased against pitchers that they never wind up taking one with a high pick.

    • I'm curious to see if it is immediate IL or downshifting to Irvin's swingman role is possible. He has been preventing runs early in games, and if it is just stamina he might still be a puzzle piece in the upcoming stretch. Obviously possible something acute happened on one of the pitches yesterday, if so that might make him a 2025-2026 two year kind of guy like Mahle or Woodruff from this past offseason if somebody really likes him.
    • Tampa also rolled the dice on him one offseason with leaving him off the 40-man roster when his name was prominent as a top Rule 5 candidate. Nobody did the Anthony Santander thing out of A-ball with a catcher. He was a high school bat who commanded a $1.6M bonus, and some of why high school catchers maybe have 2nd place to high school pitchers as a risky demographic is they take so long to develop. The Mariners have Cal Raleigh now and Harry Ford later.    It makes "who will the backup catcher be in 2025" less of a mystery starting out the offseason.
    • Sure, he’s by no means somebody that the Orioles should be overly resistant to part with if he’s a necessary piece in a deadline deal. But he’s not superfluous in the system so he’s not somebody I would expect they look to offer up as trade bait. I think the Orioles will try to deal from their strength in infield, corner OF and C, and avoid trying to deal any pitchers or CF. But if the team they’re trading with is demanding pitching or CF in return, Fabian and others the Orioles would probably prefer to hang onto will be on the table. Like when the Orioles traded Zach Showalter in the Flaherty deal last year, likely because the Cardinals were demanding pitching.
    • Please please please stop with the Bauer! It's unbelievably tired, and smarter minds than you or I have decided that he's not worth the trouble. That means something. ME knows what he's doing.
    • It’s been a dramatic reversal. His command also looked good in Spring Training - 4 BB in 10.2 IP - so it was surprising to see it so bad early in the year. Hopefully it was just that back injury leading to the command issues and he’s over it now.
    • Teams will never give him the hoped for mega bucks.  Even if he was unlikely to ever get much more than a two year deal.  No it seems no team will give him even a real good one year deal.  He will be forced to accept a "prove it deal" Honestly it might be time to go the Trevor Bauer deal.  Sign him for one year deal and if he is too much distraction you cut him.  No way a team does not sign him if he is not being intentionally black balled.  The Orioles could afford to take the chance being a great team a couple of arms away from winning it all.
    • Considering we were DFA and losing him for zippo it a decent pick up. BTW, Hunt is showing in Seattle’s top 30 (#23) on MLB.com.
