11/8: Trimble Doubles Twice

Costly loss for Scottsdale.  They probably need to win their final two games to make the play-in game for the championship.

Nice game for Trimble. 2 doubles and 2 walks.  OPS at .753.   9 walks and 17 Ks in 53 PA.  11 hits in 42 AB's.  4 doubles.   Still only 22 when next season starts.  Trimble, Fabian, and Beavers at Aberdeen.  Should be fun to track.

Trimble is interesting in that we really don't know what the Orioles have him. I don't think he was ever right since he's been in the organization, at least until the end of this season due to injuries. 

Saying that, he's not a big guy and he's shown zero power as a pro and while he will start 2023 at 22 years old, he'll play most of the season at 23 so he really needs to have a breakout year next year. 

To me, he's a left-handed hitting version of John Rhodes with less pop and a little less plate discipline.

Only 55 minor league games so far.  Ortiz and Norby are not big guys either.  The Orioles organization has been able to tap into power with those two and Cowser, so I'm cautiously optimistic with Trimble and Rhodes.  Haskins is another player who made some strides in the power department last year.

I imagine that every year there are a few guys who have a decent draft pedigree but haven't produced for whatever reason. They have to be ranked low on prospect lists but in theory they could make big jumps.

Not high probability guys, but guys who have a chance. Tremble and Rhodes definitely fit that description to me. This is a type that also fits as a 3/4th piece in a trade as a flyer for another team.
