I don’t think I would mind this if it was a cheap 1 year deal.

The statcast numbers aren’t bad, he still hits for a decent average (by todays standards anyway) and he still has a decent OBP.

His  defense isn’t as good as it was but I don’t think he’s really going to hurt you over there either.

The question is, how does the roster work out?

They will carry 13 pitchers and 13 hitters.

Adley, Mounty, Urias, Mateo, Gunnar, Hays, Santander, Stowers , Frazier and Mullins are the guys you can currently pencil in to get most of the starts.

McCann and McKenna are on the bench.  That leaves one more spot. If that guys to Hosmer, who gets squeezed and does that mean Santander plays more in the OF?

Right now I'd say Stowers would be the guy because we've been told that Frazier will play some COF.

Gross, I know.

But that's how I see Hosmer fitting, and why I'm not advocating for it.

At least he passed through waivers, meaning we didn't claim him. So if we are interested it would have to be on a minor league deal, correct? I would have no problem with that.

I think it just means no one wanted to take on his salary. Unclaimed, he can now sign for the ML minimum and the Sox/Padres pay the rest of his contract.

You want to listen to a good ELO song?

I got one.

ELO is #3 on my personal list of Jeff Lynne bands, which does put it ahead of The Move.

Actually saw ELO at Boston Garden in 1981

R2D2 came out on the stage and lasers shot from his head.

It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen, but I was under the significant influence of hallucinogens at the time, so it might actually have been lame.

I can relate, no way I'd go to an ELO show unless I was under the influence of mind altering chemicals.
