Yeah I think it is more of just the time of year, and just having him focus on what he needs to focus on. They probably learned a lesson from Cowser that there is little need for him to focus attention to defense when they just need his bat.

I think it’s just a matter of Hyde not wanting to test his glove in these critical games.  Next year will be fine for that.

Makes sense, I hadn’t heard particularly negative things about his defense so I was just confused why he wasn’t being used. It’s good to hear

Urias v Westburg might be the only drama for playoff game 1 lineup, assuming its not against a LHP.  Hicks will almost certainly start over Kjerstad, which is the only other spot that would likely even be up for debate.

I can't imagine he comes back before the weekend, if at all before the playoffs.  Unlike Felix, his injury is one that seemingly could be worsened by giving it a real try.

Mountcastle is probably slated to return soon so we are most likely going to need to find ABs for him as well.

I'm guessing he doesn't start against a RHP, not in game 1 that is.  Hopefully he's back and making the decision harder though!

Neither Yandy nor Arozarena in the Tampa lineup at Fenway....Junior Caminero is batting 2nd.

Houck v. Eflin....Eflin currently tied with Gibson for the AL Wins lead.     That's a bauble I'd love to see Gibson get for his year here.

I know that Corbin is a lefty but I still don't like Hays batting leadoff here.  With any luck, we'll knock him out.   IMO, not only do you want your leadoff hitter batting that high with a good OBP to get your offense started early, it's to get him more at bats throughout the game.  I want Gunnar getting as many at bats as possible.

But whatever, Hays probably hits two homers tonight.
