Boston named Kluber several weeks ago.   And I think one or two other teams had named them.   But far fewer than normal by this time.

Both us and Boston starting their big free agent signings.  It always feels good when you can go out in the market and sign a guy who will be your opening day starter.  Elias said he wanted to go out their and get a front of the rotation guy and he went out and got our number 1.

He was always going to be the guy, but it's nice that he also earned it with his spring performances. I don't think he's really be on any of the televised games, so I'm looking forward to watching him do his thing. If Lyles can have a good year here, Gibson absolutely can, too.

Even if it was a forgone conclusion, he has pitched his ass off this spring and earned it.
