Thanks for the update.

It's pretty funny.  I watched some highlights of the legislators interviewing folks for the A's.

L- Yes or no on this simple point.

A-Goes on without giving an actual answer.

L- Yes or no?

A- Goes on without giving an actual answer.

L- Well I'm wasting my time here so I'll give up the rest of my time.

Ownership lost any negotiating leverage when they announced they were moving to Vegas prior to securing funding, I think Fisher is trying to beat out Angelos as the most inept owner.

How does Angelos count as an inept owner?

He's raking in the money, he's got 600M in bribe money sitting there for him to take and the team is competitive.

Arte Moreno is an inept owner.

I was at the game yesterday, honestly was expecting more than 34k. Looks like they were not selling seats in LF upper deck, can't wait for that area to get repurposed. Side note: The concessions on the lower level are amazing compared to the upper level. Upstairs are dreadful. My son was relentless in his demands for chicken tenders. I buckled, and stood in a 15 minute line only to get to the grill area and have them tell me 5 more minutes for tenders. So we waited, and waited, and then the food was blah. They were $14 too. Never again :)

Through 30 home dates (Friday’s game), the O’s attendance was 602,069, up from 472,840 last year, a 27.3% increase. If that rate of increase were maintained, the O’s would draw 1.737 mm fans this year.

Just looking at this weekend, the team drew 75,467.   Last year, the O’s had two weekend series in June, which drew 47,464 and 41,196.   So, that’s a huge increase.

They are tryng to get to 1 8 to 2 mm.if everything goes well.1.8 mm. looks very doable with the Yankee and Met fans filling the stadium on back to back weekends and some popular giveaways coming up. 2 mm. would be tough but not totally impossible. Perhaps somewhere between the 1.8 to 2 mm.

Bobble heads help

There have been bobbleheads most recent years, right?

Are there more this year?   We've had Mounty & Adley, and I know we have Eddie Murray and Felix Bautista remaining on the schedule.   I think that's it.

Have we had 4 in a year in the past?   I don't know.

But in terms of boosting attendance over recent seasons, you would have to show me that we have more bobbleheads this year or else it isn't a factor.

    • Rather sign Pivetta. Probably costs less and you don’t have to give up talent.  But if you get Gray cheaply and they eat some contract, he could be a plan c or d type guy.
    • In my mind, I'll be sitting right about where I was for Game 2 of the 2014 ALDS, which I think was in Section 53. In the real world, I'll be at home , probably on the sofa, with my broken ankle iced from time to time and elevated. I'll be following the game on TV and the game thread on my laptop. At least the building won't shake -- or if it does, I'll know there's a problem.  If only two of Westburg, Urias and me were going to return in time for Tuesday's opener, I guess I might as well be the odd man out.
    • Just saw it.  Mutambo died earlier today.  Who is going to be the third?
    • Gray is actually due $65M. $25M next year, $35M in 2026, and a $5M buyout on a $30M mutual option in 2027. Plus he has a no trade clause Not really any surplus value there. He could be worth close to 2/$65M, but pretty much no way he exceeds it. Doubt I would give up more than a bag of balls if they had to take on the whole contract.
    • It can’t hurt to do research on him and place a call to Cards GM & see what’s involved . We need SP help .
    • Here is my roster. Wasn't an easy task with some tough decisions C  Adley Rutschmann 2022 1B Rafaeil Palmeiro 1998 2B Brian Roberts 2009 SS Miguel Tejada 2006 3B Manny Machado 2015 OF Adam Jones 2015 OF Albert Belle 1999 OF Trey Mancini 2017 DH Chris Davis 2013          Bench Gunnar Henderson 2024 Bench Melvin Mora 2004 Bench Jay Gibbons 2003 Bench Matt Wieters 2011 --------------------- SP Mike Mussina 2000 SP Jason Johnson 2001 SP Wei-Yen Chen    2014 SP Erik Bedard 2007 SP John Means 2019          RP Jorge Julio 2002 RP BJ Ryan 2005 RP Jim Johnson 2012 RP Koji Uehara    2010 RP Zack Britton    2016 RP Felix Bautista 2023 RP Darren O'Day    2014 RP George Sherril 2008
    • You must choose a 26-man roster from 26 seasons. Here are the rules. Ignore 2020 Select 13 position players, with 9 starters and 4 bench players Select 13 pitchers, with 5 starters and 8 relievers You can only select one player from each season from 1998-2024 (exclude 2020) You can only select a given player ONCE  Starting pitchers have to be starting pitchers, relievers have to be relievers I will amend rules as appropriate from any suggestions you have. Go.
