I expect O’Hearn plays today.

Mullins L CF

Adley S C

Santander S RF

Mountcastle R 1B

Gunnar L 3B

Hays R LF

O’Hearn L DH

Frazier L 2B

Mateo R SS

While I like this, I think if these are the starters, we may see O'Hearn and Hendeson swapped in the order to take some pressure off of Henderson, given that O'Hearn also has pretty good power.  That's what I might do.

I do not understand why we didn’t call up a fresh arm(Khriebel) for today. Gilaspie and Perez are likely both unavailable. I hate going into games short handed.

I also do not think it’s an over reaction to send Kremer down for a start or two in AAA.  That’s if Bradish can come back on time.

If they rank Vavra over Stowers for outfield playing time, someone like O'Hearn or Lester does probably make more sense than Stowers.

I'm still hoping to see Stowers + Westburg for a good chunk of the season in the spots that today have Vavra + O'Hearn.

Too bad the team doesn't have an outfielder that hits lefties and could have played RF while Santander was out with back issues instead of Frazier. I mean, there was a guy who OPs'd over .900 against AAA lefties last year, but he bats left-handed so clearly he can hit major league lefties. Of course, Frazier has major league stats that says he can't, but hey, Orioles roster management!

As for O'Hearn, he makes more sense than Bemboom and honestly Vavra since all they're doing is using Vavra as an outfielder and PH.

Have to imagine Stowers is up in the next week.

How often do you think Mullins needs to rest.  I get he isn’t hitting but should still put up a good year in the field.

W/O McKenna do you think Hays/Stowers/Vavra can give him a break every once in a while.  Or do you see them as finishing game if he gets hurt type ability?

If Mateo hits could he be answer to the RH CF problem?  I know it’s SSS and he’s hot, but the 3/1 k/bb ratio has me wondering if he can keep this up.

Can we just leave Mateo at SS, please? Leave Adley at C, Gunnar at 3B, Mateo at SS, Mountcastle at 1B, Hays in LF, and Mullins in CF. Set the everyday line-up and let's build some continuity with a rotation of players that makes sense.

I know the organization is all about flexibility, but why in the hell would we take our best SS, also the Fielding Bible winner, and put him anywhere but SS? That is crazy to me, unless it is in a desperation move due to injuries.

The reason we are struggling with our defense so far is simple to me. With all of the moving parts deep into the Spring, this team simply is not ready to play. The gaffes we have seen in the OF are not who these guys are when they are locked-in. That is on Hyde and Elias. This team looks ill prepared to go out and beat even a decent team on a nightly basis right now.
