He doesn't have anyone else to go to. Honestly would have just left Bradish in. If he blows it, he blows it, but the 'pen is shot and Bradish needed to just take one for the team there.

The pen isn't really shot in terms of middle inning guys.  Voth is rested.   But Maton is a lefty and followed by Baddoo who is also a lefty, so he chose this spot for Cionel.   Cionel probably gets Baddoo in the 6th, and then maybe Voth?

Where the pen is shot, is in terms of late games guy.   They probably don't want to use Bautista and Baker for the 4th time in 5 days, especially given some of the high pitch counts Bautista has had.   And Baumann isn't a guy they want to use back to back.   So it's up to Cionel/Akin/Voth/Coulombe to get us to Cano in the 9th.  (And in a close game, most managers tend to try to save one guy just in case of extra innings, and that might be Akin today).

So probably Voth comes on after Baddoo and goes at least an inning, then Coulombe, then Pena.

Bradish folded like a tent....so disappointing..This is why starting  pitching is our weakness...

Its why this off season was such a bummer.   We all knew we needed some starting pitching.   And Elias got us some stuff from the discount racks.
