Tbh I think Gibson could've been left in for another batter to finish the 6th. He keeps getting removed at ~95 pitches and I don't think it needs to be that low, if he's a veteran innings-eater type.

I just want to see a complete game by the Orioles. Score a lot of runs, starter gives seven innings, and they can rest the bullpen for the most part. 

It was looking that way, but nope, Gibson had to crap his pants when he was unable to do what he was signed to do. 

He needs to get the team at least into the 7th if not through the 7th in that situation. He started nibbling around doing some BS out there. Go out, change speeds, throw strikes and eat innings. 

Pitchers back in the day knew how to do that. They knew how to just throw strikes and get guys out with big leads. now you got Gibson up there throwing the kitchen sink all over the place going deep into a counts and being out of steam at 95 pitches.

 

I get the frustration but 10 million dollars doesn't typically buy you a 7-inning starter. Gibson has been fine, in my opinion, and has come up big when he's had to. This is a team that puts the ball in play...a lot and there were some bad plays behind him.

I know some of you think our pitching staff is just fine and can compete with the best of them. But I disagree, we will find a way constantly to keep the opponent in the game. Then we need Cano and Bautista to save us.

I like having winning players and recognize Stuff monsters are how you do so in this day and age, but jeez Baker walking Zunino in this scenario is aggravating.

All the pitches Bryan Baker can muster play in the aggregate, but he has so little pitch to pitch command what the stuff is doing.

I'm not talking about him this season, I'm talking about him tonight. He did not do his job well tonight.
